We will serve as many students as we receive scholarship money for. The more generous our donors are, the more students we can serve!Historically, we've added 2-3 new scholars per year, while continuing to provide scholarships to previous recipients for as long as they are in school.
100% of your donation will go to a student scholarship. Currently, there are no paid staff members at the Pell Project, and all overhead costs are paid for by donations from the board of directors. That way we can ensure that your money goes directly to a scholarship. When scholarship funds are disbursed, they will be paid to the college or university that the recipient attends through the Hispanic Development Fund, to be used for tuition payments.
Yes! The Pell Project is 501(c)(3) organization with EIN 81-2350553. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation at the end of the year.
In 2016, two high school teachers got tired of seeing undocumented students with the grades and ability to succeed in college either drop out or decide not to go at all because of the incredible financial burden. They decided to raise the funds privately. They are committed to ensuring that all of their students have the same opportunities to get an education and build a successful life, regardless of their immigration status.
